Week of May 14th

Great weekend at the races! We enjoyed the gorgeous weather at the day before Mother's Day Duathlon on the Rockliffe Parkway. 
 
Congrats to:
Claude Dreano on her 3rd place overall in the women, 2nd in her age cat 
Sevak Majikian for completing his first multisport event (our newest recruit in the pool :)
Linda Lafrance came 1st in her age category in the long course race
and gotta say after a couple of rough seasons, coach was pretty happy with her 1st place finish in her age cat and 10th place in the women

Week of May 7

The first multi-sport event of the Summer is coming up this weekend - Somersault Day before Mother's Day Duathlon. Claude, Linda and I will be there. Anyone else?

BUSHTUKAH'S BRING ON THE BAY - 3 KM OPEN WATER SWIM
 
 
 
Bushtukah's Bring on the Bay - July 14, 2012

Calling all swimmers - for the sixth year running, this year's Ottawa Easter Seals Regatta features a 3-km open water swim across beautiful Britannia Bay. Sponsored by Bushtukah, the swim starts at Nepean Sailing Club and finishes at Britannia Yacht Club. Over 120 swimmers have registered to date!

All proceeds from the Bushtukah Bring on the Bay 3K Open Water Swim will be donated to Easter Seals Ontario, benefiting Easter Seals Kids in Ottawa.

What: 3km open water swim.

When: SATURDAY, JULY 14, 2012 at 8:00am.

Where: Nepean Sailing Club, 3259 Carling Avenue, at Dick Bell Park.

Swim course: The course is a point-to-point swim starting at the Nepean Sailing Club and finishing at the Britannia Yacht Club. The course will be well-marked. We will transport your extra clothing and shoes to the finish line. Numbered tags will be provided for your bags.

Week of April 30th

Yoga Teacher Training
I'm booked to go to Costa Rica for 3 weeks in September to get my 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training! I have been taking a fantastic workshop series at the OAC over last several months. Their new yoga studio is great and the instructors are some of the best in the city. In the Fall we started incorporating yoga into the spin and strength workouts. Triumphers have been reporting less aches and pains and great strength and flexibilty. I have also been studying Reiki. I have completed my Level 1 training and will be taking Level 2 in June. I look forward to sharing it all next Fall.

OBC Time trials start this week on the Rockliffe parkway.  For more info on the Tuesday night women's time trial click here:

Time trials are a great way to train when you want to do a hard workout outside of the spin studio. You can join for the whole season and do as many as you like on either day. I recommend doing a short run after to get the real brick effect.
